The Lake Norman District is a newly formed district carved out of several districts surrounding Lake Norman. There are 54 churches in the district with attendance of over 11,000. The district office is located in Huntersville.

The opportunity to begin a new district is rare in the United Methodist Church. Ordinarily, districts are collapsed or merged. The Lake Norman area attests to population growth, and the people in the United Methodist churches in the area embrace and view population growth as a means to fulfill the vision adopted by the district:

“ Follow Jesus, Make Disciples, and Transform the World.”

Efforts are underway to launch new churches, reach out to the needs of the people surrounding Lake Norman, and grow the faith and understanding of existing congregations. We see trust in Jesus Christ as a means to bring light where there is darkness, hope where there is despair, wealth where there is poverty, and joy where there is sadness. We truly believe all things are possible through Jesus Christ. We invite you to explore our website and to visit one of the United Methodist Churches in our district.
